How Automatic Braking Systems Work

Automatic braking is a relatively new system and it can actually save a person’s life. It’s all based around the control of sensors, radar and video data. The sensors will determine whether there are any objects in the way of the vehicle, and if the car is travelling at high speeds it will send a signal to automatically apply the brakes.

It’s extremely clever technology and it takes into account the speed of the object in front of the vehicle and if a collision is likely to occur at a dangerous speed then it can react quicker than a human to apply the brake.

Occasionally people are worried in case the systems fails or the brakes are applied at the wrong time, perhaps causing an accident rather than preventing, but it’s fair to say that so far these automatic break systems look very reliable and every road vehicle can possibly benefit from this system.
