If you have a car which is not worth repairing then you may decide to just scrap it. There are a number of companies out there that will come and collect your car and pay you the weight in scrap. They will often take it away even if it does not start leaving you without the hassle of trying to sell it.
These companies will obviously want to make a bit of money for themselves but often pay a good price for the scrap metal. If you are going to scrap the vehicle then you may be able to remove some components such as the battery to sell separately.
If you really want to get the most money for your scrap car then you should strip it down and sell the parts separately. Often you can get close to the value of the car this way and very often more than triple the scrap value. Even badges and car seats can fetch some money and if the car has decent alloy wheels, these can be sold for anything between £50 upwards.
